Prior to joining South Georgia Medical Center, Faeskorn held key leadership positions at Lahey Health in Burlington, MA, where he served as the Executive Director of Coding and Health Information Management and Utilization Review. In this capacity, he successfully restructured the utilization review process and the health information management teams, aligning them within the revenue cycle framework. Faeskorn provided operational and strategic support to the Chief Revenue Officer/Senior Vice President during a period of rapid organizational growth and hospital mergers.
With a strong focus on driving efficiencies and improving financial outcomes, Faeskorn effectively managed a $15 million budget for coding, health information management, and utilization management. He achieved significant savings on vendor contracts and enhanced the Case Mix Index (CMI) results through education, process changes, and operational efficiencies.
Faeskorn's leadership has been instrumental in driving several initiatives, including improving intra- and interdepartmental communication, preventing denials, optimizing clinical documentation, and implementing effective training and education programs for healthcare providers. Additionally, he has played a vital role in technological advancements, spearheading initiatives such as infusion coding and billing, and contributing to the successful rollout and adoption of the EPIC electronic health record system.
Faeskorn holds an MBA in Health Sector Management from Boston University School of Management, and he is a registered nurse with certifications as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Outpatient Coder (COC). He has actively participated in major EPIC rollouts at Lahey Health and Partners Healthcare/MGH-Brigham.
